The engines low power output combined with a large heavy crankcase contribute to its longevity as well as ability to run a variety of low quality fuels. For those looking for a little more powerful version Mercedes also made the 300D in the 123 chassis, these engines product 80-88 hp, and the Turbodiesel model 118-123, these engines before 1985 are considered indestructible when running biofuel conversions.
